I’m Katie, founder and surface pattern designer at Willow and Woods. I design hand-drawn wallpaper and surface patterns for homes that are lived-in, loved and layered over time. My work is inspired by nature, history and the quiet stories that make a house feel like home. Thanks for visiting, it’s lovely to have you here!
I grew up surrounded by creative work and historic design, and it has shaped the way I approach pattern: I creates hand-drawn wallpapers that celebrate the beauty of craftsmanship and the quiet poetry of pattern. Rooted in British artistry and a love of storytelling, each design is painted by hand to bring warmth, character, and meaning to the spaces we call home.
Inspired by generations of creativity and a belief that art should be lived with, not kept behind glass, Willow & Woods brings timeless design to life – one brushstroke at a time.
When I’m not drawing, you’ll find me exploring the coast with my family, or taking cold dips in the sea (brrrr!), On those rare occasions I have a quiet moment, I enjoy settling down with a good book and being transported to another world. Life I’ve found is full of small moments that deserve to be reflected in the spaces we live in.
Through my designs I hope to help bring joy and warmth to people’s homes – the comfort of coming inside after a brisk walk in the rain, the calm of a sunlit room, the quiet beauty of a space that feels like you. Discover more about life at Willow and Woods here!
My Approach to timeless Wallpaper Design
Wallpaper design is where creativity meets craft – transforming everyday walls into beautiful, story-filled spaces. At Willow and Woods, every design begins as a hand-drawn pencil sketch or watercolour painting. Nature, history, and classic interiors inspire my motifs, which are carefully digitised to create repeating patterns with life and depth.
Unlike mass-produced prints, my wallpapers are made to order in the UK, using FSC-certified paper and eco-friendly inks. This approach means we only produce what’s needed, allowing us to minimise waste and ensure every roll is created with care.
I blend traditional motifs with hand-drawn charm and inviting colour palettes, producing designs that are timeless yet fresh. From woodland scenes to delicate florals and coastal toiles, each pattern is crafted to bring warmth, beauty, and a sense of story into any room.
